Our newest addition – a workplace hunger relief project… Let’s Do Dinner! unnamed (1)

In Yonkers, New York, managers at the Stew Leonard’s grocery store joined together to donate and assemble all groceries needed for 33 “dinners in a bag,” each complete with a corresponding recipe.  The bags were donated to a local food pantry and given out to families struggling to put food on the table.  Click below to learn more about the Let’s Do Dinner! and the DoorKnob Dinners food drive projects… one version for the office and another for your neighborhood!  Join us!

F-to-F’s founder (Pam Koner) has joined the blogosphere! Aptly named “Pam-demonium,” the blog chronicles Pam’s thoughts and hectic life running an out-of-the-box hunger and poverty relief organization. Pam-demonium touches on everything from being a mindful human being when you’re doing your shopping… to recycling unwanted clothes to help a good cause (Family-to-Family!)… to why it’s important to teach your kids early and often about poverty…. to F-to-F’s office mascot Wally, a pug who wears a diaper!

020Thanks to your generous donations, we’ve purchased and sent new shoes, underwear, fleece blankets and sweatshirts to migrant children and their families in Texas. Working through the Texas Interfaith Center for Public Policy, our goal is to provide basic clothing and other essentials for some of the thousands of impoverished migrant children crossing the U.S. border into Texas and Arizona.  Many of the children, fleeing violence and poverty in Central America, are arriving unaccompanied, with only the clothes on their backs. Your donations made a difference!

Help Our Family of the Week

Every week we post a short profile of one family in our program that is waiting for a sponsor.  This week it’s a Southaven, Mississippi family that’s badly in need of help.

THE FAMILY… Leticia and her husband Moses live in tight quarters – a 3 bedroom rented house with their four children and Moses’ 2 grown brothers. Moses and his brothers work as house painters, but their combined income doesn’t quite cover the bills for this family of eight. Please help this family, with kids from ages 4 to 14, put food on the table! To sponsor Leticia and Moses with monthly groceries, click here.

In the last few months, thanks to funding from Welch’s, we’ve expanded our hunger relief sponsorship program into 5 new communities. We’re now in Brookside, Alabama… Southaven, Mississippi… Whitney, Nevada… Baltimore, Maryland and Worcester, Massachusetts.  That puts us in 17 states.  33 to go!
