Los Angeles Fires Relief Effort
Help us provide emergency relief items for L.A. families, refugees and Holocaust survivors in need
Help our sponsored families and fragile Holocaust survivors breathe a little easier!
With details emerging about how each of our Los Angeles sponsored families, refugees and Holocaust survivors have been affected by the fires, a few urgent needs are clear.
Based on our community partners’ assessments, it appears our families/seniors have thankfully not lost their homes, but are struggling with dangerous air quality levels caused by the fires. Our immediate goal is to provide 249 air purifiers and up to 1,000 N95 masks for the L.A. families and seniors we sponsor.
For the asthmatic children in a number of our sponsored families, and for the many elderly and fragile Holocaust survivors, the exposure to smoke and toxins in the air makes the need for air purifiers and high quality masks a particularly urgent one.
The items will be distributed by our L.A. community partners–FEAST, Human Rights First, and Jewish Family Services of L.A.
As soon as the air purifiers are purchased, we will provide emergency gift cards for food, personal care items, and other basic needs for the low income families served by those three organizations who HAVE lost homes from the fires.
