The Sn’ock Project

Stuff a sock with snacks for the homeless! An in-office project.

Popping into a local store to pick up a snack when you’re hungry isn’t easy if you’re homeless without a penny to spare.

The Sn’ock Project provides the most vulnerable among us with a variety of healthy snacks plus a new pair of clean, cozy socks.

Your group of co-workers comes together to stuff one sock from each pair with unopened, healthy snacks.  When the sock is full, tie it up with a ribbon and attach a friendly note. Then put the two socks along with a small bottle of water into a zip lock bag.

What to stuff your socks with?

Any of the following:

  • Nuts
  • Pretzels
  • Granola bars
  • Fruit bars
  • Raisins
  • Dried fruit
  • Chips
  • Chewing gum or mints
  • Peanut butter or cheese crackers

For a truly hands-on and rewarding experience, we suggest that your group distribute your “sn’ocks” to the homeless on the street.

Or, if your office is in a smaller city or town where the homeless are less visible,  Family-to-Family will coordinate with a local outreach organization that will be happy to receive your “sn’ocks.”  If you’re interested in this option, please email us (more info@family-to-family.org) BEFORE you start your project, so we can make sure there’s a recipient organization near you!

Please contact us at moreinfo@family-to-family.org before your event so that we can link you and your group to a local shelter where you can bring your donations.
