70+ newly arrived asylum seekers in Ardsley, N.Y. need a helping hand!

Please consider helping one of these refugees by providing a donation we’ll use to purchase Visa gift cards… enabling them to purchase food and other basics that are badly needed.

Our local community has recently welcomed 70 refugees who arrived by bus from New York City and are staying at an Ardsley motel. There are about 60 adults, mostly couples, as well as young children. These families have travelled a long way — they started in Haiti, Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Russia, Congo, Guinea and Senegal, and all crossed into the U.S. at the southern Texas border. Our goal is to make them feel welcome in their new community.

With your help, we’ve so far been able to provide them with two rounds of Visa Gift cards, backpacks full of personal care products, duffle bags, strollers, kids’ clothing, and specifically requested items of adult clothing and shoes.  Other local organizations are stepping in with food, English language classes, toys for the kids, help with laundry and more. But more help is badly needed.
