Robin Hood Selects Family-to-Family as Sandy Relief Fund Grant Recipient

Allowing The Organization to Continue Impactful Hurricane Relief Efforts

NEW YORK, NY, January 29, 2013 — Family-to-Family, Inc. ( has been selected as a recipient of a $25,000 grant from Robin Hood’s Sandy Relief Funds from “12-12-12 The Concert for Sandy Relief” to continue hurricane aid efforts.

Family-to-Family, a non-profit grassroots hunger and poverty relief organization, met the criteria for Robin Hood’s Sandy Relief grant, and will use 100 percent of the awarded funds exclusively for hurricane relief efforts.

A New York-based organization, Family-to-Family creates impactful one-to-one connections, matching donors across the U.S. with hurricane affected families in need of basic household items lost in the storm.

”We appreciate the work that Family-to-Family is doing to create personal relationships between families and are proud to support their efforts,” said Emary Aronson, Managing Director of Robin Hood.

“Our ‘on the ground’ and ‘in the community’ approach allows us to react quickly to address one specific need after another,” explained Pam Koner, Founder and Executive Director of Family-to-Family. “We are, in a sense, an organization that is plugging up the many holes that are springing up as a result of the hurricane devastation.”

To date, Family-to-Family has provided Hurricane Sandy victims with everything from pillows, blankets, air mattresses, clothing, kitchen items and small appliances to holiday toys and dinners, space heaters, cleaning products, cell phones and more.
