One Book at a Time
When there’s not enough money in the house for food, buying your child a book is impossible.
So as a way to help feed the hungry minds of children in our sponsored families, we encourage our cyber-sponsors to send a child in their sponsored family one gently used book each month.
The books can come from your own shelves… books that are still in good condition and are no longer read. Ask your own children to help pick out a book they think another child would love. They can help pack it up and even write a short note to the child it is going to.
If there are several children in your sponsored family of very different ages, alternate who you send to each month.
We hope to encourage literacy and at the same time build mini home libraries in our sponsored families’ homes.
Books should be sent from your local post office to the outreach center address you were emailed when you signed up for sponsorship. Any questions, email us at famtofamily@aol.com.
