Just as neighbors in frontier towns came together to build barns and other community structures, Family-to-Family hopes to significantly enhance the poor communities across the United States in which it is active. We are beginning to combine monthly box shipments with support for local community initiatives to further our overall mission.

Since education provides a proven method of escaping poverty, F-to-F is investigating literacy initiatives in our communities, as well as the possibility of creating libraries stocked with children's and adolescent books. One of our members has started a used book donation program (Books for Life) which has already resulted in over 5,000 books sent to F-to-F communities.

As F-to-F establishes a relationship with each new receiving community, we discover where their service deficiencies are. Often, existing facilities are in urgent need of additional supplies, kitchen equipment, storage etc. Purchasing used vans, for example, for many of our communities would increase a pantry’s ability to reach out to families whose mobility is limited.

F-to-F has established protocols for the distribution of funds dedicated to meeting such needs. These and additional projects can only be realized through your generous donations. Designating your contributions on an unrestricted basis allows F-to-F to allocate funds to the most critical areas. No amount is too small.
